ANABASIS SPACE. Launch

The ANABASIS project was inspired by Paul Celan and its residency took place from July 19 to August 01, 2021, on ZOOM. Nine artists and one group of artists took part in it and discussed questions like that of identity based on the poetry of Celan often seen from a posthumanist perspective both with the curators as well the invited experts: Dr. Francesca Ferrando (New York), José F.A. Oliver (Hausach), Prof. Petro Rychlo (Chernivtsi), Prof. Paul Sars (Nijmegen), and Prof. Rochelle Tobias (Baltimore, Maryland). During the following three months the residents finished their artworks.

The ANABASIS project is organised by the NGO "Ukrainian-German Cultural Society of Chernivtsi" at the Centre Gedankendach in partnership with the Institute for German Culture and History of Southeastern Europe at LMU Munich (IKGS) and supported by the European Union under the House of Europe programme.
